WINE FUNDAMENTALS
Overview
Informative and delivered with a common-sense approach, students attending our WSET Level 2 course will discover a new-found appreciation of wine from a global perspective and learn to pair wines with food. Taught by an accredited wine expert, the course is both engaging and educational, and ideal for both junior and senior interior staff to gain or increase wine knowledge and service.
Course outline
This three-day course has been speci cally designed to focus on wine communication, application and service to enable students to apply their learning to the workplace with ease. Those who complete this course will
gain an understanding of the key grape varieties around the world and the different styles of wine produced. The most important regions for production of both inexpensive and premium wines are explored and delegates will be able to describe the most common multi-varietal blended wines made from key varieties. A systematic approach to wine tasting is followed when exploring each wine and students will also learn to pair food and wine. Other aspects explored include labelling terms, storage, common faults, as well as legal, social, health and safety issues associated with wine.
Key outcomes
We place the focus on creating a solid foundation of knowledge so that implementing what you learn and applying taught techniques goes as smoothly in your workplace as it does in the classroom.
Price
The course is priced at €690 per person, which includes all stock, training material and exam papers. The number of trainees per course is a minimum of four and a maximum of 10 to ensure optimal learning. Please enquire for courses to be held on board.
