When Dylan heard there was an opportunity for a scholarship that could help his career grow, he
jumped on it! Still an apprentice, he is continuously looking for new ways to grow, both personally
and professionally. Dylan understands the importance of seizing opportunity when it presents itself!
Success to Dylan is “being proud of the work you put in and the achievements you’ve accomplished
along the way”. He plans to use the scholarship to help him achieve his goal of being a Certified Re-
frigeration Mechanic, with the skills to service both the hot and cold sides of the business. We asked
Dylan what advice he would offer to those interested in working for a CFESA company. He replied;
“The best thing to do is to call. Make an impression and let them know you’re seriously interested!
Attitude goes a long way towards getting your foot in the door and having power in this industry.”
Congratulations Dylan!
Josh Bridgewater
Josh started his career just 3 months out of high school. He was looking
for a job and quickly saw that this industry offered great wages, benefits
and the opportunity for financial growth. To Josh this isn’t a job, this is a
career “where the sky is the limit.” Just like the other two recipients, it’s all
about customer service with Josh and having the chance to help people
each and every day! This defines a lot about what success is to him and
this is how he explained it:
“Success for me is helping others. Helping others by serving is what per-
sonally brings me joy. Not every time is there success, but them knowing
that I’m trying and working hard at it brings personal satisfaction.”
Josh really wants to finish his Associates Degree and utilize the scholarship to help him accomplish
that. He believes this will help him become more of a voice for the trade and enable him to assist
with training and teaching. Josh already acts as a presence for RSI at nearby job fairs and is very
much involved with the recruiting process.
When asked what advice he had for individuals considering this trade as a career, he had this to say:
“Food equipment will always need to be serviced by qualified technicians. This career offers you a
viable means to support your family and earn opportunities that no other trade can compete with!
It’s always changing and there is never a dull moment.”
Congratulations Josh!
