1.1 学业目标 Academic Matters
融育学生学业的目标是要做到:
Our goal is for Honor School students to:
保持好奇心,并积极地享受学习;
Maintaining students natural curiosity and actively enjoy learning;
能在学习中表现出主动性,并能做出理性、合乎道德的决定; Show initiative in applying critical thinking skills and make reasoned, ethical decisions;
能做到关注自己和他人行为感受的沟通方式;
Become effective communicators regarding feelings about their own and others’ actions;
有原则,正直、诚信和公平;
Principled, acting with integrity, honesty and fairness; both personally and academically
能宽容地接受他人的差异;
Open minded in accepting the differences of others;
能对老师和同学表现出关怀、同情和尊重;
Caring, showing empathy and respect toward their teachers and peers;
能发展自己和他人的智力、情感和身体健康;
Develop their intellectual, emotional and physical well- being of themselves and others;
能对自己的学习和经历全盘考虑,进行反思。
Reflective, giving thoughtful consideration to their own learning and experience.
1.2 评价和报告学生进度 Assessment& Reporting Student Progress
学术评价的主要目的是提高学生的学习。融育学校承认并肯定所有学生的学习成果,鼓励和 支持他们发挥学业水平方面的潜能。
The purpose of assessments are to improve student learning. Honor School recognizes and affirms the dignity of students, encouraging and supporting students to reach their full potential.
学校评价学生的策略呈现是多种多样的,在实施过程中,通过评估为学生提供呈现的学习成 果。
Strategies to assess and evaluate students are varied at the school, administered over a period of time and provide opportunities for students to demonstrate their learning. Where appropriate, accommodations are provided. 教师通过沟通与家长交流学生的学业成绩和进步。这些可能包括:把批改好的考试和作业寄 回家,打电话,笔记,面谈和寄送成绩单。
Teachers use a variety of methods to communicate student achievement with parents. These may include:
sending home marked tests and assignments, phone calls, notes, interviews and report cards.
