also a yoni and lingga which has carved decorative motifs of coiled tendrils, and in
its surrounding area, there are a lot of stone pedestals. Thus, the temple bears Hindu
character. Unfortunately, there is no other information which can explain its historical
background.
The name Rambut Monte according to the surrounding population is derived
from two words, rambut (hair) and monte. But is an abbreviation of buyut (great
