NOTE ACAWS
For the ENG 1 (2, 3 or 4) NO LIGHTOFF (A) ACAWS
and the ENG 1 (2, 3 or 4) STAGNATED START (A) GROUND
ACAWS, the pilot may override the automatic shutdown
by holding the ENGINE START switch to START. If this
is done, the associated ACAWS will appear while the TAKEOFF
start attempt continues.
Normal hydraulic system operating pressure should FIRE/SMK
NORM be indicated within 30 seconds after the propeller is on
speed. If the control column is in the full forward position
this pressure may not be reached because of internal PRES/OXY

the control column off its stop 2 to 3 inches will eliminate

1.3.8 ENGINE SHUTDOWN (ON THE GROUND)

Procedures for engine shutdowns on the ground are divided into two
SPEC categories; engine ACAWS Warnings and all others. ELEC

CAUTION
GEAR
The pilot shall guard the FIRE handle throughout the
start. If MGT is observed to rapidly increase through DOR/RMP
PERF the 6 o’clock position, pull the FIRE handle to prevent
engine overtemperature.
JETTISON
For all other engine shutdowns on the ground, including normal
shutdowns and shutdowns for ACAWS Cautions and Advisories:
