NOTE
ACAWS
The target pitch attitude and the takeoff trim setting were
chosen so that if the critical engine fails between refusal
speed and rotate speed, the aircraft will be approximately GROUND
in longitudinal trim at obstacle clearance speed passing
50 foot height.
TAKEOFF
D. Bank angle...................2-5 degrees into the operating engines (PF)
Establish 2-5 degrees angle of bank away from the shutdown
engines and then adjust angle of bank and rudder pedal force for FIRE/SMK
NORM zero side slip and apply rudder trim to reduce pedal force.
WARNING PRES/OXY
Apply rudder trim, as required, after takeoff to reduce ENG/PROP
rudder forces and to increase margin above V MCA .
Operating with rudder out of trim may cause V MCA to
increase above en route climb speed and cause possible FUEL
loss of control resulting in loss of aircraft. With rudder
trim set, best climb speed, one engine inoperative, is
above V MCA2 HYHQ LQ ORZ ERRVW ZLWK ÀDSV XS :LWK UXGGHU AAR

PERF NOTE
Prior to reaching V OBS , the capability of the aircraft to climb JETTISON
is seriously reduced while the landing gear is retracting
(18 seconds) and the propeller is being feathered.

Once the gear is up and clear of obstacles (400 feet AGL minimum):
