1.10.8 SINGLE MC FAILURE FIRE/SMK
NORM When MC 1 fails, LPCR/Digital Map video will be unavailable on the
pilot’s side. When MC 2 fails, LPCR/Digital Map video will be unavailable PRES/OXY
on the copilot’s side.
NOT FOR FLIGHT
If an MC controlled page is displayed on the onside CNI-MU (CNI-MU
No. 1 for MC 1 FAIL, CNI-MU No. 2 or 3 for MC 2 FAIL), key selections ENG/PROP
on that CNI-MU will not respond until an SP controlled page is selected.
FUEL
CAUTION
AAR
Due to the interruption in communication to the hydraulic
panel following an MC failure, the SUCTION BOOST
SPEC PUMPS switches and the EMER BRAKE SEL switch ELEC
can toggle uncommanded.
If MC 2 shuts down during refueling operations, hose
reel response will not be available, resulting in potential HYD
damage to the receiver probe. Receiver aircraft
should disengage until AR pod MASTER POWER and
HYDRAULIC POWER can be reselected to ON on the FLT CTRL
CNI-MU.
An MC 2 failure may cause AR pod MASTER POWER to automatically GEAR
be commanded OFF. As a result of AR pod MASTER POWER being
commanded OFF, AR pod HYDRAULIC POWER will automatically
be commanded OFF and the pod fuel supply valves automatically DOR/RMP
PERF commanded closed. This occurs because of the momentary loss of
validity for the pod guillotine status when MC 2 communication with the
TECU and BAU II #2 is lost. If refueling operations were in progress JETTISON
when the MC 2 FAIL occurred, hose reel response will not be available

To resume single MC 1 refueling operations and/or hoses rewinding, LANDING
reselect pod MASTER POWER ON and HYDRAULIC POWER ON,
and open pod fuel supply valves as required.
