1.11.2 EXCESSIVE HYDRAULIC SYSTEM
PRESSURE ACAWS
In the event utility or booster hydraulic system high pressure in excess
of 3,500 psi (failed hydraulic pump compensator) is indicated, do not GROUND
shut off the individual hydraulic engine pumps.
TAKEOFF
WARNING
If the hydraulic engine pumps are shut off, the pressure FIRE/SMK
NORM line between the hydraulic pump and shutoff valve is
isolated from its means of pressure control. Excessive
pressure will build up until the hydraulic pump or line PRES/OXY

NOTE ENG/PROP
o
Hydraulic system temperature stabilizes below 135
C when one pump has a failed compensator and is FUEL
dumping its full output through the system relief valve.
This malfunction poses no safety hazard.
AAR
In the unlikely event of hydraulic pressure exceeding 3,750 psi (loss of
SPEC system pressure relief valve and a failed hydraulic pump compensator), ELEC
proceed as follows:

LANDING
Monitor system quantity (sight gauge) and pressure (direct reading

DITCHING
An engine has lost both its system pressure relief valve and a
hydraulic pump compensator. It is necessary to shut down one of
the engines supplying pressure to the affected hydraulic system.
