     4 under itself, making sure
     that both  short ends are situated
     on the same side of the  knot.

                                                            Bring the  working end
                                                         5  around and then back on
                                                         itself to  make a figure  of eight.














        Tuck the  working end
     6 beneath  itself and lay  it
     alongside  the  two parts of the
     other rope. Tighten  carefully,
     making sure  that all  of the  knot
     parts lie snugly together.
