Page 3 - Book Fold -Lesson 11 -Kingdom loyalty and Spiritual Warfare
P. 3
3. How does the four things affect a Christian soldier’s loyalty to
God’s kingdom?
B. THE REALITY OF THE SPIRITUAL WARFARE –Luke 22:31-34
Spiritual Warfare- A conflict that the new person, created in the image of
Christ, constantly battles (against the deceptive devices of Satan –Eph.
6:10-11, Sinful flesh -Rom. 8:7-8, and Systems of this world -James 4:4)
whenever the believer chooses to surrender in loyal obedience to the
Word, Will, and Way of the Lord Jesus Christ. (My definition)
The struggle may occur in realm of the believer’s desire, or mind, or will,
or action. Every instance of a desire through to an act of obedience to
God is a victory for the believer resulting in an eternal reward (James 1:2-
4, 12). Likewise, the opposite is true whenever we conceive an evil desire
and nurture it into disobedience or disregard of the promptings of the
Holy Spirit. The result is a loss or ruin of an eternal reward (James 1:13-
16). The struggle intensifies as we yearn and strive to draw closer to God
in fellowship.
1. The Conflict with Satan -Luke 22:31-34
a. Why did Simon Peter think he would remain loyal to
Jesus?
2. The Conflict of Sin-self with the new person- Romans 7:22-23
(NKJV)
22 For I delight in the law of God according to the inward man.
23 But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of
my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin, which is in
my members.
b. Who is the inward man referred, it is the same as the
“the law of my mind”?
