3. The Conflict with Worldly Choices- James 4:1-4 (NKJV)

1 Where do wars and fights come from among you? Do they not come
from your desires for pleasure that war in your members?
2 You lust and do not have. You murder and covet, and cannot obtain.
You fight and war. Yet you do not have because you do not ask.
3 You ask and do not receive, because you ask amiss, that you may
spend it on your pleasures.
4 Adulterers and adulteresses! Do you not know that friendship with
the world is enmity with God? Whoever therefore wants to be a friend
of the world makes himself an enemy of God.

who answered?

III. APPLICATION

C. OUR HELP TO REMAIN LOYAL TO OUR KING

Loyalty demands a costly choice. Jesus pronouncement clearly lays the
cost of following him. Thus being loyal to his purpose, plan and program.
When we take sides with God, we invariably declare a stand against
Satan, Sinful self, and the World. We cannot have both. It is impossible to
serve two masters faithfully. - No servant can serve two masters; for
either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will be loyal to
the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon."-
Luke 16:13 (NKJV)
We have divine help if we choose to remain loyal to God. The Scriptures
explains clearly

1. The help of the Holy Spirit - Romans 8:26-27 (NKJV)

26 Likewise, the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know
what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes
intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. 27 Now He
who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He
makes intercession for the saints according to the will of God.
