GOJO® MULTI GREEN®

GOJO® MULTI GREEN® Hand Cleaner was reformulated and relaunched in June 2017. Because
sustainability is central to the GOJO Purpose of Saving Lives and Making Life Better through Well-Being
Solutions, the team’s goal was to develop a high quality formula that was sustainable and demonstrated
GOJO’s commitment to leading our industry in sustainable practices and solutions. Per Crystal Varner,
Project Leader, the team managed to do this by closely monitoring the global regulatory landscape and
reporting out changes on a weekly basis, reducing our chemical footprint, and testing over 30 different
scrubbers, as well as multiple preservative combinations in order to select the best possible
formulations for the enterprise.
What’s new about MULTI GREEN? The formula is now more sustainable, is USDA BioPreferred, and
ECO Logo certified. It contains natural pumice scrubbers to quickly remove oil, grease, paint, and tar
from hands. It also meets the California VOC requirement for consumer products.
The formula was designed to have more of a gel consistency with a natural citrus solvent, that clings to
hands and spreads easily to eliminate a wide variety of soils. In addition, we have launched 3 new bottle
sizes: 10oz, ½ gallon and 1 gallon.

said Aaron Kurchev, Total Solutions Manager for Heavy Duty. “The plastic micro-beads previously used
in the formulation were banned in the 2015 Federal Waterways Act. The team simply could have
removed them, but they took it a step further. As existing MULTI GREEN customers called in to see how
we were addressing the situation, we could tell them not only will we be compliant, but we’ll have a
number of other sustainability benefits to include. If you’re the Global Environmental Compliance
