NOMINEE NOMINATOR DEPARTMENT
Lamont Cunningham Thomas Marting Facilities Maintenance 200800
Describe the situation or event related to the individual's or team's performance.
Lamont found a lighting technology that allowed his team to retrofit light lamps at the LC plant without having to
change wiring or replace fixtures. He used in house resources that kept the cost for the project low. At LC
14,500 LED lamps were installed that reduced power by 1,300,000 kWh a year. At Plaza 5,500 LED lamps
were put in that is saving 465,000 kWh a year.
Describe in detail the individual's or team's notable behaviors.
Lamont worked the challenge of retrofitting the lights and found the lowest cost, most efficient way to achieve
the results. He collected all the necessary information and worked with the city electrical utility to get the most
rebate dollars back possible.
What were the results of the individual’s or team’s behaviors?
Lamont implemented lighting retrofit projects at GOJO Plaza and GOJO Lippman campus that substantially
lowered electrical lighting demands and improved lighting conditions. These projects also resulted in rebates
from the utility companies that make the payback for the costs less than a year.
