Nomination Recognition 2017

        Report by Individual Nominee

       CATEGORY: SAFETY CELEBRITY

       NOMINEE NOMINATOR DEPARTMENT
Nicole Bledsoe Timothy Scherer Cleaning & Sanitization 201300

Describe the situation or event related to the individual's or team's performance.

Nicole was asked to be on the spill response team two years in a row. During this time, she worked with other
departments to assess the state of spill response and chemical handling across all GOJO facilities. Nicole and
the spill response team quickly worked on reinventing the annual training this team goes through, making it a
hands-on and memorable experience for those involved.

Describe in detail the individual's or team's notable behaviors.
Nicole is tireless, well-informed, opinionated and humorous. The amount of "heavy lifting" necessary to
achieve this team's objectives were made more achievable by the amount of work Nicole took on, and the
hours more enjoyable with her sense of humor. Nicole is always willing to share her opinion, and as a
supervisor that has worked at GOJO for over 12 years she has a ton of experience that served her well in this
       effort.

What were the results of the individual’s or team’s behaviors?
Nicole played an integral role in the revitalization of our spill response program in 2017. Working with
individuals in different departments across all campuses, Nicole flexed her hours to attend meetings and work
with manufacturing, safety and lab personnel to make sure that we were building a spill response program that
was compliant with OSHA regulations, fit within the context of GOJO operations, and that suitable equipment
and supplies were identified, purchased, and made available.

Nicole spent countless hours working with our spill response team to make sure the training was hands-on and
specific to our working environment. The work necessary to make this happen was significant, as the program
has pivoted 180 degrees from what it once was - generic, not hands-on, and a boring rerun as far as annual
       training goes.

Thanks to Nicole's contributions we now have over 70 individuals between our 3 campuses that are well trained
on hazards in their work environment, the equipment and resources needed to safety contain and characterize
the situation, and the equipment and resources needed to safely and efficiently clean and remedy the incident.
