What were the results of the individual’s or team’s behaviors?
Lori epitomizes the very definition of Life Long Lerner. And, in 2017, she took her learning efforts to a whole
new level. Her passion for learning are a critical reason why she?s now responsible for Clinical Education on
the Healthcare team. Some notable examples of learning in 2017 for Lori are:
? She completed her certification as a CPPS ? Certified Professional in Patient Safety. Only 2000 healthcare
professionals in the US have this certification. Lori was the first GOJO employee to receive this certification.
? Writing technical documents is a key part of Lori?s new job that was not part of her job when she was a
Clinical Specialist working with hospitals. So, Lori recognized this skill development opportunity is taking
classes through the American Medical Writers Association on the side (in addition to her full day job) to learn
how to be a better technical writer.
? Final comment: Lori reads more clinical clinical papers and guidelines that just about anyone. She always
wants to make sure she has in-depth knowledge of her areas of responsibility and also actively seeks
opportunities to learn outside them. For example, she recently shared a podcast on leadership and
prioritization with the marketing team that she?d listened to on her daily commute.
? In addition to her GOJO job, Lori works 1-2 days at the Cleveland Clinic in order to continue to learn about
how care is provided in the changing healthcare market ? so that she can continue to excel in her role here at
GOJO.
