Report by Individual Nominee
CATEGORY: DOING WHAT IT TAKES
NOMINEE NOMINATOR DEPARTMENT
Karen Tuck Charlene Conley Credit / Collections 600662
Describe the situation or event related to the individual's or team's performance.
My previous statement touched on much of the details with this question.
When Credit and Collection was down a cash application specialist, Karen always stepped in to assist in
getting the job done. Posting the cash timely affects the Finance department, the credit assistant's and our
customers.
Describe in detail the individual's or team's notable behaviors.
The credit and collection department has faced many challenges this year and having a supervisor on top of
our reports that enable us to perform our jobs enables collection to perform our jobs to the best of our ability.
Karen has also allowed us to be more active in learning to run our own reports. Biweekly meeting discussing
challenges collection faces and meeting with the Sales Audit Manager to review problem area's benefits both
departments.
What were the results of the individual’s or team’s behaviors?
Karen has been with GOJO many years and within those years learned many different area's of the collection
area. She handles maintaining the duties within the department when positions are empty and the job must get
done. While it is the manager's responsibility to make sure the department duties are performed there are
many times while required to take vacation time, she uses that time to work from home on her laptop to get the
job done. Karen is very knowledgeable with the customer maintenance area and instructs the different
departments within GOJO how to complete their job.
such as setting up a new customer, she will instruct Sales on how to perform that task. Although sometimes
Karen may seem a little harsh, she simply wants to make sure the job is done and done CORRECT. Karen is
a good team leader and she be recognized for that. Being one of her direct reports you don't always agree or
like your managers response, but in the best interest of the companies interest " SHE IS TRUELY ONE OF
THE BEST".
