All non-exempt employees must accurately record all hours worked with the
timekeeping system provided. If you leave the building for personal reasons, be sure
to clock out when you leave and clock in when you return. No paycheck will be
issued without a properly completed time slip or time record. Non-exempt employees
assigned to use timesheets must sign their time slips; electronic signatures accepted.
All time slips and computer-generated time records must be approved by the
appropriate authorized person. Each non-exempt GOJO employee is to be paid for
any and all time worked. No employee is permitted to work without it being accurately
recorded. Any non-exempt employee who fails to accurately record all hours worked,
or any supervisor who allows a non-exempt employee to work without it being
accurately recorded, will be subject to disciplinary action up to and including
termination. Employees are responsible for reporting any supervisor or manager who
encourages or requires off-the-clock work to the HR Department.
1. ELECTRONIC TIMEKEEPING SYSTEM
Be sure to clock your time regularly and accurately. Employees who neglect to
clock in or out as required should report it to their supervisors as soon as
possible. Failure to clock in or clock out properly will result in an incident on your
attendance record.
• Clock in: No earlier than 6 minutes before
• Clock out: No later than 6 minutes after
GOJO rounds total minutes to the quarter hour, with a seven (7) minute rounding
band on either side of the quarter hour.
Inform your supervisor if you are required to work before your regular starting
time or later than your regular schedule ending time so that your supervisor can
make the appropriate edits to your timekeeping record.
2. Non-Exempt Travel Time-Record Keeping
Hours worked include all the time during which non-exempt employees are
required or allowed to perform work for an employer, regardless of where the
work is done, whether on the employer's premises, at a designated workplace, at
home or at some other location.
Travel that keeps non-exempt employees away from home overnight is travel
away from the home community. Travel away from home is clearly hours worked
when it takes place during regularly scheduled hours of work. Contact the HR
Department regarding travel outside of regularly scheduled hours of work.
Wage
Administration
For attendance at a trade show, non-exempt employees may be required to P a g e | 8
attend an event that is in the evening – beyond the normal scheduled workday
hours. In those situations, it is acceptable for the manager to change the
scheduled work hours for that day, such that the non-exempt employee is told in
advance, completely relieved of duties for that time, and given a specific time to
report for work later in the day.
If instead, the employee is needed during regular workday hours and is required
to attend the evening event as well, overtime must be recorded or an adjustment
to the work schedule can be made in the same workweek as described above.
