The Man In Love
does not one a favour, except himself. In fact, he does not do God a favour as well because he will be the sole beneficiary of the reward for obeying God’s commandment. In addition, as Jesus presents to himself the church holy and without blemish so the husband remains the primary beneficiary of transformation that love brings about in his wife. In effect therefore, there is a lot in it for us as husbands when we show love to our wives as commanded by God. Our interest is very well served through the gesture that we are asked to show toward another physical being.
Let us consider briefly here, three benefits out of many that husbands benefit directly from by loving their wives.
THE BLESSING OF ANSWERED PRAYERS. When we show love to our wives, we invoke a vital key for answered prayers. John 15:16-17 gives us that insight:
You did not choose Me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain, that whatever you ask the Father in My name He may give you. These things I command you, that you love one another.
John 15:16-17
