The Man In Love
1. HUSBANDS, SANCTIFY YOURSELF FIRST. It is a common saying that ‘you cannot give what you do not have.’ Husbands must work to sanctify themselves first to some degree before they can make any meaningful impact working to achieve the same with their wives. Hear what Jesus said in John 17:19 about Himself:
And for their sakes I sanctify Myself, that they also may be sanctified by the truth.
John 17:19
Jesus sanctified Himself first before expecting us to sanctify ourselves. The husband must understand what it means to be sanctified and how to achieve it, and then be a real-life example to the wife that it is a worthy aspiration. Moreover, husbands must continue to exercise themselves unto sanctification because it is not a state that is achieved once and for all time. The husband’s sanctification must complement that of the wife for a strong and healthy marriage and family life.
2. COMMEND YOUR WIFE TO AND INSTRUCT HER IN THE WORD. This is the priority place where the husband begins to do
