demonstration of her love for him. The gesture was not lost on Jesus, who deeply appreciated it and spoke against Judas who thought differently of the gesture because of his own evil interest.
It is an honour for a man to cease from strife: but every fool will be meddling.
Proverbs 20:3
We must also make it a point of duty to honour our wives. We must cease from strife with them especially in the open. We must never ever scold our wives in the open and before strangers. We must not do anything that will dishonor her. Jesus rarely scolded His disciples in the open. Even where He disagreed with their conduct, He did not raise His voice against them. When Peter cut of the ear of the servant of the High priest when a band of men came to arrest Jesus, in Matthew 26:52-54, the Master simply told him to sheath his sword and explain briefly how inappropriate it was to use it in the circumstance. He did not shout on Peter nor did He take any disciplinary action that would demean him before everybody. He also knew that it was a show of love by Peter toward Him.
