seemingly ‘ugly’ he might think she now looks, that she would not be found very attractive by other men.
When you operate in the counsel of the Lord and commit to walk accordingly, the heart (which is in the body) will be glad. When the heart is glad, your glory (the body and by implication, the wife) will rejoice (or be joyful) and your flesh (body or wife) will rest in hope! It takes walking in the counsel by the husband (the head) to make the heart (the core of your wife glad) and to bring about wholesome joy to your entire body!
I will bless the Lord who has given me counsel; my heart also instructs me in the night seasons. I have set the Lord always before me; because He is at my right hand I shall not be moved. Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoices; my flesh also will rest in hope.
