The Man In Love
So we can see that God made perfect provision to ensure that the new union works and the purpose of God is fulfilled in it. Provision is made for husband and wives to grow even stronger in Christ and be prepared for the heavenly kingdom than they could have achieved had they remained single.
The Limits Of Love
He who loves father or mother more than Me is not worthy of Me. And he who loves son or daughter more than Me is not worthy of Me. And he who does not take his cross and follow after Me is not worthy of Me. He who finds his life will lose it, and he who loses his life for My sake will find it.
Matthew 10:37-39
The scripture says that a man shall leave his father and mother to be joined with his wife, and that union will fuse them into one flesh. That means that each of them does away totally with the old identities. It means also that allegiance switches and new roles and responsibilities are taken on. In that new dispensation, each party is meant to show love exclusively to the other. Love ties father and mother comparable to how Jesus loved His Church become outlawed.
