The Man In Love
asked any of the two categories to do what the church has not done or is not already doing to Him as its Head.
Jesus also showed that the one who is in love is the one who keeps His commandments. John 14:21 says,
He who has My commandments and keeps them, it is he who loves Me. And he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and manifest Myself to him.
John 14:21
Submission is obedience to the word of God. It is choosing to go with God’s command rather than with our own desire. It is allowing God’s way to have free course over and above our own way. Obedience is evidence of love based on the above scripture. Therefore, submission is a clear expression of love. It is also captured in 1 Corinthians 13:4-7 where the scripture says that love “does not rejoice in iniquity,” “rejoices in the truth,” and “does not seek its own.” When submission is willfully done it represents ‘rejoicing in truth.’ The wife who is submissive is certainly not seeking her own. Submitting because it is commanded by God is ‘rejoicing in righteousness.’ Submission is indeed, love.
