               *Abstract (200 words max) for commentary essay due

               Class Objectives:
                  1.  To understand how challenges in rural and remote communities are addressed (or can be
                      addressed) through policies and programs.
                  2.  To think critically about how governance and resources allocation decision-making plays a
                      role in rural and remote community self-determination.
                  3.  To  consider  the  role  of  local/municipal  policy  interventions  in  shaping  rural  community
                      health;
                  4.  To  examine  the  relationship  between  local  and  provincial  recruitment  and  retention
                      initiatives and access to rural primary care.
