"It almost feels like being in a museum, it must be a long time since there

has been anyone. Do you see all the dust here?”
“Yes, but just wait until you see the rest of it. Come let me show you

around,” says Mitchel excitedly. He takes her hand and they enter the adjoining

room, which is the main exhibition room.
"Look, it's quite nice right?” He points upwards.

“Incredibly. It's really amazing” she says, looking up at the dome-shaped

ceiling vault, created by glass, where the lower part of the glass dome is artfully
made of glass mosaic in red, purple, blue and olive green colours. They stand for

a moment, both impressed by the unique sight.
“It's not difficult to understand why the gallery was so popular back then

as well. The artists competed amongst each other to be allowed to exhibit here,”

says Mitchel. She lets out a little firm laugh “And they definitely will do so again.
What amazes me though, is why there has not been a use for it for so long.”

Mitchel responds in his subdued voice, the one he uses when he wants to reveal a

secret. “I have been allowed to rent the gallery on some extremely favourable
terms, yes in fact it was a bit mysterious. The owner Ursula, an elderly woman,

whom I would say is at least 75 years old, repeated this to me all the time: You
are the right one, you are the right one. It was as if I almost had been the specific

person she was waiting for.” Mitchel looks at Katrin intensely, before continuing.

“I actually feel quite honoured by all this. Especially when she compared me to
the old gallery owner, she told me he was-“

Katrin interrupts his speech, too eager. “Tell me! What did she say? It’s

                   becoming more and more mysterious”
“Haha. Well, let me finish then,” says Mitchel “She said that Uno Hinter-

glaub, the old owner, was Germany's most recognised art connoisseur and owner

of especially modern paintings .When the Nazis came to power, he was forced to
close the gallery and was later sentenced to death for treason.” “Treason?” She

repeats to herself. "What has that got to do with art? I don’t understand"

"I have no idea, but that was what she said, it may be she can tell more an-
                   other time"

They stand still for a while and watch the colours play in the hundreds of
stained glass pieces in the dome above them filled out the room, and together
