trying to sound as fresh as he can. Perhaps it was just as much, The Painter is

probably already so drunk that he did not notice if his son sounds fresh or not.
“Do you have your pills?” Asks The Painter with a slurring voice on the other

end of the phone, “I don't want you to go out, there's been trouble on the pier. Let

                   me talk to Janokovic."
George passes the phone to Janokovic, who has been sitting on a chair in front of

the television and has begun putting a VHS video in the player.

"Hello Painter, this is Jano speaking," he says.
“I don't want you going out tonight, there have been some problems down at

the pier. Does your mother know that George is sleeping at your place? "
"Yes, she said it was okay, we can just call Jack if something happens."

Janokovic holds the phone with his head while continuing to rewind the video

                   back on the VHS-machine.
                     "Okay, good" says The Painter.

After the conversation ended, the boys looked at each other and laughed.

Janokovic then takes two piles of money and puts them on the table, pushing
                   them forward towards George.

"Look, it was very easy,” says Janokovic. “Have you made so much money
before? It's yours now. " Janokovic says, acting excessively while raising both his

                   arms.

George nods absently, muttering: "Yes, it was easy, now we can take a break and
                   relax a little."

"Just a moment. Before I start the movie, I think we should just call and hear if

Eik and Matt have gotten home.”
Janokovic turns the rotary dial on the phone, calling Eik.

The phone beeps over six times. Just as Janokovic was about to hang up, it is

                   picked up.
"Eik here," Eik shouts at the other end of the phone to muffle out the music that

                   is playing in the background.

"Hi, it's Jano, I just want to hear if you arrived home."
“Yes, everything’s all right here. There were a lot of police around, and I was told

that there are a total of three people who died down at the wheel, with some
