Sponsored by
10.15 – 12.00
Non-communicable diseases (NCDs) including heart disease, cancer and diabetes are reaching epidemic proportions, accounting for 60% of all
deaths globally (Pan American Health Organisation). Food and diet play an important role in not only health and prevention of these chronic diseases but also in the management of NCDs.
During this seminar, leading experts in the eld of nutrition and metabolic health will discuss new insights into the effect of nutritional intervention on the management of NCDs including cardiovascular disease, obesity, diabetes and cancer. They will also examine a new generation of superfoods which have the potential to tackle heart disease and diabetes.
NCDs, dietary patterns and cardiovascular disease
This session will examine the latest evidence exploring the effectiveness of dietary intervention strategies to manage chronic NCDs. Leading industry experts will also provide an insight into the latest dietary approaches for the management of cardiovascular disease, which is the leading cause of death globally (WHO).
