SIDEWALK & CURB
IMPROVED LIGHTING - Replacing old light fixtures with new LED
fixtures would increase visibility for both pedestrians and vehicles. This

increases the sense of security for those who are walking the streets at
night.
LONG TERM SOLUTIONS
IMPROVED WIDER SIDEWALKS & NARROWED ROADS - These strategies work

hand in hand together. By narrowing the roadway for vehicles, the
pedestrian sidewalk becomes wider. Creating wider areas for pedestrians
to walk creates a more comfortable space to walk in a group, while
narrowing the roads prevents vehicles from speeding down a wide open
road. Reducing the speed of vehicles on a heavily used pedestrian road
increases the safety for pedestrians.

NARROWED ROADS
“TRAFFIC CALMING” the pedestrian realm is opened up dramatically. Taking cars off of the
road allows for a more pedestrian oriented road that is more inviting and
safer to walk to the downtown area.
