A few fun chocolate ideas
DIY truffles
Keep your guests sweet by letting them make their own after-dinner chocolate truffles.
Place the bowl of ganache directly onto the dinner table with a few teaspoons and different
coatings, and let the fun begin!
Hot chocolate from chocolate truffles
Turn chocolate truffles into outlandishly decadent hot chocolate. Place 3-4 truffles into
glasses or mugs, and prepare a pot of heated milk (1 cup of milk per person). Add in a few
spices, such as vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg and even a little instant espresso or coffee
powder for mocha versions. Not only does this just taste incredible but your whole house
will smell like a winter wonderland. Pour the heated milk into each glass or mug, and serve
with a teaspoon so that people can stir and scoop out the chocolately deliciousness as they
go.
Fun with plain ol’ melted chocolate
Use straight melted chocolate for a quick and clever dessert. Serve it with fruit or
marshmallows, or biscotti on the side for dipping. You can even give guests their own
chocolate dipping cups.
Chocolate shavings for cakes
Make chocolate shavings by pouring melted chocolate onto a flat, smooth surface, chilling it
for about half an hour, and then using a cheese slicer to pull it towards you along the
surface of the chocolate, 'grating' the chocolate into curls. These are ideal for decorating
cakes and tarts, and can be kept in the fridge for later use.
