             Petits fours


             Makes 12-16 petits fours | Preparation time: 15 minutes | Baking time: 25-30 minutes
             | Icing and decorating time: 30 minutes



             What you’ll need:



             Ingredients



             For the sponge cake

             200g butter, softened
             200g caster sugar
             4 large free-range eggs (200g)

             200g self-raising flour
             1 tsp (5ml) baking powder
             1 tsp (5ml) vanilla essence
             1-2 Tbsp (15-30ml) milk, to loosen if necessary


             For icing and decorating

             1 x simple sponge cake
             1 x ready-made wet fondant (can be bought from your local baking shop)

             Food colouring of your choice
             Edible cake decorations and sprinkles
