Sue Lee smiled and donned her washed-out
green skirt and shirt that were entirely too small
for her. Another school year had arrived and her
poor, hardworking mother could not afford to get
her new uniform. Sue Lee often wondered what
life would be like if her father were still alive to
assist her mother with the money to support her.
She caught herself daydreaming.
