The Lazy Mermaid

So, Jasmine tried to do some of the chores set for
her. By the time she was finished she was so tired

she could only scramble a little seaweed for

breakfast. She did not make dinner.

When Dr Triton came home he only brought

dinner for himself. “Well Jasmine’’, he said, “if you
want dinner you will have to cook.”

This went on for several days until Jasmine realised

that she would have to stop being lazy. She began

to do all her chores to the best of her ability and

she began to lose weight. One evening, she

cooked fried seaweed and tuna mixed with catsup
and mayonnaise. After Dr Triton was finished

eating he inspected everything that she had done

and he didn’t find many things that were done

wrong.

The next morning when Jasmine woke up Dr Triton
was not there and he hadn’t left a note. So she did

the chores and even much better this time. When

the doctor came home, he said, “Jasmine you are

free to go home.”
