The Lazy Mermaid

When Jasmine got to Dr Triton’s house he showed

her to a room with a small tough merbed. When
she returned from the room Dr Triton said to her,

“Jasmine, go and prepare food for me to eat.”

Of course she did not want to do as she was told,

but Dr Triton made it clear that if she didn’t cook
she couldn’t eat.

So she went into the kitchen where she saw two

bowls on the table, one big and one small.

She fried some delicious seaweed and filled the
bowls. Of course, selfish Jasmine took the big

bowl for herself and gave him the small one. She

was just used to having the biggest of everything

and leaving the smallest of everything for her

mother.

When he came into the kitchen for supper, he saw

Jasmine sitting at the table with the big bowl

before her.
