The Lazy Mermaid
Dr Triton said, “Jasmine, please lie back on the
couch so that I can check your heartbeat with my
mermaidascope.” The doctor proceeded to give her
a thorough checkup and when he was
finished, the doctor declared to both Jasmine and
her mother, “I’m afraid Jasmine has a very serious
condition! I will take her to my house to cure her.”
At this point Jasmine could not let her mother
know that she had only been pretending to be
seriously ill. “Anything you say,” her panicked
Mother replied.
