Ash Everywhere
Still trembling with fright, the girls got up and
opened the door quickly. Alissa called out to their
mommy and told her everything they had heard on
the radio. Mommy ordered them to pack
everything they needed and in a hurry.
Suddenly, the ground started vibrating again and
after seconds passed the vibrations grew stronger
and stronger. Soon, the air smelled of rotten eggs.
“That’s smelly sulphur. Remember we learnt that
lava smells like rotten eggs in Science class?”
announced Alissa.
“I don’t care what it is; I just know it smells awful!”
Nikki said.
“Alissa! Nikki! Jaida! Are you girls ready? We need
to leave now. Let’s go!” their mommy yelled.
Everyone grabbed their bags, rushed through the
door and bundled everything into their Mommy’s
car. Outside was dark. Day had turned to night.
