A Day I Will Never Forget
The electricity got locked off and it made
everything nearly impossible to see.
The raindrops were so heavy, it was like they were
ready to pierce through the galvanize.
In the evening, the wind got stronger, it was so
strong it started ripping the galvanize sheets off
one by one, It was as if someone was ripping the
pages from a book in a most violent way.
That’s when I felt most afraid.
There were eight of us stuck in the house with
total darkness and being soaked as the wind had
blown the roof right off. I started crying, asking my
mom if everything was going to be ok and she kept
saying, “Son pray, just pray.”
I did just that, but the Category Five Hurricane kept
up its fury unrelentingly. I started trembling,
praying to God to stop, only to now realize that it
got even worse. When the rain got stronger, I had
to run under the bed. I thought it was a great idea
but it surely was not.
