Heritage Trail of Madison (Vaughn Drive/Vernon):
This scenic, paved path stretches 1.4 miles between
Madison’s hilltop and downtown. Parking is available
by Madison State Hospital and at the intersection of
Vernon and Vaughn Drive.
Jaycee Park (Vaughn Drive/Madison-Milton Bridge):
This playground features a shelter house, playground,
cornhole, and sand volleyball along the riverfront. New
restrooms are slated for construction.
Johnson Lake (Cragmont/Mouser Street): A quiet
haven in the hustle and bustle of Madison’s hilltop, this
park features a picturesque lake surrounded by a trail.
There is workout equipment available beside the trail
and fishing is allowed. Hatcher Hill Trail (North Walnut): This beautiful hike
connects the hilltop and downtown. The trail was a collabora-

Kiwanis Park (Vaughn Drive/Broadway): Kiwanis Park
features a softball field on the riverfront.
Krueger Lake (Ordnance Dr): This county park is a day-
use recreation area with fishing, picnicking, and mush-
rooming. Fish population includes large-mouthed bass,
bluegill, and channel catfish.
Lorenz Park (Aulenbach Ave/East): This park includes
a shelter house, playground, and basketball court.
Lytle Park (West/Third): Lytle Park has benches and a
gazebo to relax along one of Madison’s busy corridors.
Madison Ramp and Dock (Vaughn Drive/between
West & Jefferson): The ramp is open to all boaters at no
charge year-round (except during the Madison Regatta).
Neavill’s Grove (Deputy Pike): Neavill’s Grove has a Rivercrest Marina (West Second): This large marina
shelter house, playground, pavilion, kitchen, and rest- features short and long-term docking space that can
accommodate nearly any boat.

Prince of Peace Tennis Courts (State/Michigan): Open
to the public outside of scheduled play/practice times.
Rucker Sports Complex (Green Road): This sports
complex is home to community leagues from softball
to soccer. Adjacent to the baseball diamonds and soccer
fields, there is a playground and a skate park. It’s a busy
place all year long!
Sunrise Golf Course (Michigan Road): This 18-hole
public golf course offers golf cart rental, storage, and
yearly passes. A variety of Golf Scramble fundraisers are
played here throughout the year.
Western Wooded Parcel (Woodfill/Frazier): 400-acre
flat wood forest accessible to the public for passive
