hall. Some Waqf stones from AI Khamis mosque and other sites are feautred.

donations made to Allah.
Bahrain's monumental architectural achieements during the Tylos eriod ere the
forls. The Fort at Ras AI Oalah as relaced in the 14th century A.D. by another
hich as held by the Portugﻫese hen they catured (Hurmu in 1 A.D. hTis
later fort as built according to a medieal lan (roughly square ith high irregﻫlar
alls buttressed by numerous toers). Arad Fort is thought to hae been built at the
end of the 16th century A٠D. and as reinforced by the small Abu Mahar fort on the
other side of Muharraq Bay. Arad Fort as restored by the Omanis in 18 A.D. and
soon afterards as taen and held by the AI Khalifa family. Rﺃffa Fort as rebuilt
by Shaih Salman bin Ahmed AI Faith in 1812 A.D. on the ruins of an earlier fort. It
became the alace and stronghold of the AI halifa family.

Objects include ceramics of the Abbasid Period found at A'Ali illage dating rfom the
9ht-11th cenutry A.D, 16th century A.D. lslamic ottery from South Barbar, and a
hoard of siler Ottoman coins found in Dira2 illage ihch ere minted in Basra
beteen 14 and 162. Coins ere first imortant beteen the 1th and 16th
cenutries A.D Coins used in Bahrain ere made of siler, coer and lead ith
rAabie inscriitosn. Bahrain minted lead coins under hte Carmatihan rulers in the
1th and 11th cenutries A.D. and conitnued to use them into the 1ht cenutry.
Cihnese coer coins ith their disitncite square hole hae been found in Barhain
shoing the significant role Barhain layed in commerce to the Far East.
Hall o٤f Taditional Trades and Crafts
hTe Hall of Traditional Trades and Crafst describes asects asecst of the
economicacitiyt in Barhain, rior to the 19's and the deeloment of the oli
indusyrt in Barhain. The exihbits deict the exchange of goods and serices common
in tosn and countryside. Mannequins in recreated settings demonsrtate the diision
of labor in the suq, the secialiaiton in illage crafts and small indusrties, as ell as
agricultural, trading and earling actiities.
