General.
The large increase in expenditure during 1348 over
1347 is ns inly accounted for by the payment of the Electric
Contract of which the greater proportion was paid during the
year.

The increase over last yeer os owing to certain salaries
sanctioned towards the end of 1347 which were paid for a full
year in 1348. The tots! payment for 1349 has been reduced to
Ks. 500C00/-.
This amount does not include salaries for duties on

headings.

This item appears unproportioncly high ss 13 months
have been included in the yeer 1348, the accounts of the lest montl
of 1347 were not received in time for insertion in 1347. jkddit-
. ionsl amounts include ns. 2,5C0/- paid as rewards, There has
been a saving of P.s. 15C00/- during the year on the Indian Police
os a result of reduction^ in the force.

Under this heading is included the newly formed-
Passport Department, which is actually self suoporting and will
be shown separately in future. The usual increments, Provident
Fund snd an increase in the members of mcrried clerks has accounted
for a slightly higher expenditure.

Secretariat. F.s. 22,356/- Rs. 26,805/-
The increase over last year is caused by usual increments
and Provident Fund. Lec-ve pay ;or the cashier for 6 months, paid
in advance, is included in this acount.
