            The Public were inforne- that they were at liberty to obtain
            and employ any workmen for wiring their houses etc. as long
            as theyheld certificates from some recognised authorities
            such os Indian :'unicinolities or Electrical Departments.
            Until now no such people have been imported and the Public
            hade placed all their orders in the hands of Callender ’s Cable
            & Construction Co. Ltd.,   The wiring of Government buildings,
            ihltce, Customs etc., including an Arc light on a seventy five
            feet standard to be placed on the peer, amounted to about 2
            Rs. 15,000/-.
                       It h: d been proposed at first th*-t the ohinkh’s
            Palace, which is only occupied for about four months of the
            year, should be provided for^ by a subsidiary engine,   On
            further consideration it was decided to extend the main supply
            to the Palace.   The extra distance w..s -.■bout 2000 yards, some
            surplus material was utilised But, the extra poles and cables
            cost Rs. 10500/-, including the work of erection ond an addition

                       Arrangements were made with the A. P. 0. C. for z
            regular supply oil of fuel to be shipped monthly from Abadan to

            Bahrain on S. S. "Kuzistan", but unfortunctely we were informed
            by them that no voyages would be made during July end August.

            It was therefore necessary to purcfr.se an extrr oil t^nk v/hich
            w^s obtained from irarachi.A small tanker was built ir. Bahrain
            consisting of a Jalibo-'t with r wooden tank which so for,seems
            to be e success.
                      Messrs. Callender’s offered in pcovide en adequate
            staff, including an engineer, for twelve months, charging 10^
            over their actual pcy.   The offer of .viatic staff was refused.
            A Power House suprintendant and two engine drivers who were
            personally known to and recommended by the Engineer were pbtained
            from India direct.
                      The services of i.!r. Jordan were offered for six months
