For centuries after the Hyksos invasion the peoples of Palestine and Syria were regarded
        as the natural enemies of the Egyptians, and monuments and accoutrements of the
        Egyptian pharaohs are frequently ornamented with figures of bound Asiatic prisoners.
        This walking stick, from the tomb of Tutankhamon, has a handle carved in the shape of
        both an Asiatic and a Sudanese prisoner.
