                                            In a room to the east of the great central court of the palace at Knossos this spirited
                                            fresco was found. It shows three acrobats, the center one a girl, somersaulting over the
                                            back of a charging bull. Experienced Spanish bullfighters claim that the feat is impos­
                                            sible. Certainly the legends of the Minotaur (the Bull of Minos) suggest that the sport
                                            may have been engaged in from religious motives.
