This panel, in beaten gold, forms the back of Tutankhamen’s throne and was found
among the othei' treasures in his tomb. Ankhesenamon, the queen, here anoints her hus­
band with perfume. The whole scene is in vivid colors, as the gold is inlaid with silver,
faience, carnelian, and colored glass.
