Ware and manufacturing

  he ware ranges from light-red to light brown. hese ceramisc are heavy,
compact, with fine to medium sandy (silicous) temper. Very rarely these are found
with chaff temper in fine pieces added to the mineral temper. hese ceramisc, with
a rather coars'e temper as a whole, appear to be wheel made. he exterior surfaces
are often clearly more limey than the interior of the ware: it is thus difficult to
ascertain if these ceremisc had received a slip. In several of the sherds, traces of red
paint were visible (Fig. 6:1 and 7:13 and p.1‫)ﺍ‬:5.
