                      The stratigraphy of hese lattcr three soundings is clearly divided :
                        from 0.50 to 1.10/1.50 meters above sea evel, the deposit was sandy, and the
                                                         l
                        occupation levels not very conspicuous. The ceramic assemblages from this
                        level are illustrated on figures 6 and 8.

                        from .101.50 o 1.60/2.30 meters above sea evel s found tone wall-collapse:

                        these cursorily built walls were possibly either azed by man or collapsed after
                        an abandonment. This second hypothesis is perhaps more likely, because of
                        sterile layer of 20  30 cm found in sounding 2 and sounding 8 above the
                        rubble collapse, This sterile layer may confirm  the abandonment of the
                        settlement, Within the rubble collapse was recovered a large corpus of
                        ceramics, illustrated on figures 7 and 9, as well as on plate 1.
                       The observations made after the material rom sounding 3 are valuable for those

                     in soundings 2, and 8 and 9, for the wo evels of period ٧ this ceramic corpus is
                     not homogeneous and is made up of wo distinct traditions.

                                     THE ARCHAEOLOGICAL MATERIAL
                     First  Group:  Light  redlbeige  ware  with  predominantly  mineral  temper

                     Forms :  Large jars with everted rims (Fig. 6:1,2 and Figﺡ :2);

                                  medium jars with short necks and triangular ims (Fig. 7:4-6);
                                  basins in a variety of forms (Fig. 6:5 and 6, Fig. 7:7 and 8);
                                  bases of ars or basins which are flat, plain and string-cut;
                                         j
                                  rather crudely made goblets, with string cut bases (Fig. 6:7 and
                                 7:14-20).
