At last the women arc beginning to consent to abdominal operations. It has .always been a
matter of great ditl'iculty to persuade them to this.
The number of Out-patient treatments has increased again, by over 13,000 this year, and in
addition some work has been done in visiting the two villages of Aali and Karzakhan. A great deal
cannot be done by distributing medicines once a week in a village, but the contact with people from
the hospital gives the villagers greater confidence to bring their patients to hospital; and even the very
small amount of village work so far attained has already borne fruit in this respect.
