By: Ali-Akbar .H Bushiri
Hon. Secretayr BHAS
The TREE OF LIFE is located to the south of Bahrain, standing on the top of a 25 foot high
hiilock. There cxists no tree of it's type, or any other type, in the vicinity of the TREE OF
LIFE. Evidence exists of templery occupation, possibly of ailitary nature. The TREE is of
the genus "ACACIA SPIROC-URPA (HOCHST EX. A٠ RICH) ACACIA TORTILIS
(FORSSK) and it is a branch of the MIMOSACEAE. Planted by man in the year 1583, study
of the tree rings indicates the annualar rainfall quantity and allows the conclusion that the
majority, if not all, ''untoward' events in the histoyr of Bahrain, such as foreign occupations
and civil wars etc., occurred duirng peirods of very low and low rainfall, whilst more
favourable events took place during high and very high rainfall periods.
