It will be noted there was ah increase in the number of craft calling at Bahrain in 1363 over
1362, and in particular from the Iran Coast. This increase was entirely brought about by the barter
system—large quantities of such goods as, Live-stock, Ghee, Onions, Potatoes, Charcoal, Firewood,
Gram, etc., being imported.
The importers in turn re-exported sugar and tea from Bahrain.
