From early 1945, the Indian white-background issue of 1941—43
appeared overprinted KUWAIT and gradually replaced the unover
printed stamps, although stragglers of the latter are known used as late
as January 1947. The usual crop of crude forged overprints appeared
on used Indian stamps, including a completely bogus 114a.
By mid-1947 Indian 114a. stamped envelopes had also been over
printed KUWAIT.
