In the National Postal Museum there is an album which contains
an infinite variety of trial overprints on G.B. stamps in their issued
colours, a typical example being illustrated above. There are also trial
overprints in red on stamps in black.
SPECIMEN STAMPS
An album compiled at the Post Office Supplies Department at
Hemel Hempstead, and passed to the Philatelic Bureau at G.P.O.
Headquarters in May 1963, contains an extensive range of the stamps
of the Gulf Agencies overprinted SPECIMEN.
